2. Coastal ecosystems are the areas where land and water come together. These distinct land forms provide habitat for highly biodiverse marine communities including a wide variety of plants and animals. Healthy coastal ecosystems provide services of environmental, economic, social, cultural and recreational value that are the foundation for human well-being.
These ecosystems are highly vulnerable to disturbances and they are in an alarmingly rapid decline largely due to the assault of human activity and negligence and global warming
7. To be able to health-guard the coastal ecosystems we have to act right now. We use GIS, Remote Sensing and Artificial intelligence (GIS-RS-AI) to help stakeholders involved in coastal ecosystem conservation make data-driven decisions to increase the effectiveness of their work and lower the costs. In particular, these technologies could be highly valuable to scaling up coral conservation and restoration efforts.
Our aim is to provide solutions that are relevant to the stakeholder needs, are easy to access, and offer actionable insights.
